Muralia.art: Muralism Has No Borders

Muralia now operates under a new domain: muralia.art. This is not a cosmetic change. The .art domain is the first step of an expansion that has been in the works for months - one that fundamentally changes the platform's reach for the artists and clients who are already part of it.
This article explains what changed, why this decision was made, and what it means for muralism in Mexico and beyond.
What Changed - and What Didn't
For the 200+ muralists registered on the platform and for clients with active projects: nothing changes in your experience. Your profiles, quotes, portfolios and projects continue to work exactly the same way. The only change is the URL.
Previous links from muralia.mx remain active and automatically redirect to the new domain for at least two years. No action is required from users or clients.
What stays the same
- Muralist profiles and portfolios
- Active projects and quotes
- Existing muralia.mx links
- Account history and data
What changes
- Primary domain: muralia.art
- Profile and dashboard URLs
- Search engine presence
- Platform's geographic reach
Why the .art Domain
The .art TLD is used by contemporary art galleries, museums and artists around the world. Unlike .mx - which geographically anchors the platform to Mexico - the .art domain carries no territorial connotation. It is the natural language of the sector.
Muralism as a practice has no borders. An artist in Mexico City can execute projects in Madrid, Miami or Buenos Aires. A client in Los Angeles may want to work with the best available muralist regardless of where they are. The previous domain did not reflect that reality.
A domain that works for the artist
When a client anywhere in the world searches for a muralist, muralia.art positions itself as an art platform - not as a local Mexican platform. That difference has a direct impact on the international visibility of every registered artist.
What's Coming in the Next Few Months
The domain change is the first step of a broader expansion. The infrastructure is already built; what comes next is opening the platform to new markets and new artists.
- 1Platform in English: To connect Latin American artists with clients from the U.S., Europe and the rest of the world who are looking for authentic muralism.
- 2Artists from Latin America, Spain and the U.S.: The platform will incorporate muralists from across the Spanish-speaking region and from the Latino community in the United States.
- 3Quotes in multiple currencies: Support for USD, EUR and MXN, eliminating friction in international projects.
For current artists
The 200+ muralists already registered have an advantage: their portfolios, project history and reputation within the platform will be available to the international market from day one. What they built on muralia.mx becomes their calling card on muralia.art.
